Abstract in brief

  • The new surgical approach for tibial plateau fractures avoids fibula osteotomy, combines lateral and posterolateral access through one incision, and provides better visualization and soft tissue protection.
  • It specifically addresses the challenging posterolateral fractures that often need precise reduction and stable fixation, which are difficult to achieve with traditional lateral or anterolateral methods.
  • In a small study, this method successfully stabilized fractures in most patients without complications or loss of reduction, highlighting its potential advantages over conventional techniques.]

@NitinKimmatkar Im familiar with the approach, but the view is dreadful. View into the joint (utilising the same surgical approach) is 100% better with osteotomy and (so far!) without comorbidity. this fracture isn't soooo terrible, just awkward https://t.co/YzjYkbQK6J https://t.co/QnWzVro5Bl
