Abstract in brief

  • The study examined whether the DSM-IV's histrionic personality disorder (HPD) category is a valid diagnosis and found that it has low prevalence, high comorbidity with other disorders, and poor internal consistency, indicating weak construct validity.
  • The analysis revealed two separate clusters of traits within HPD—one related to exhibitionism and attention-seeking, and another to impressionistic traits—casting doubt on the coherence of the category as a whole.
  • Based on these findings, the authors suggest removing HPD from DSM and instead maintaining its key features, like exhibitionism and attention-seeking, as part of a new subtype of narcissism.

"The primary reference book for understanding and diagnosing mental disorders is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR)." Look at the symptoms of dementia and compare them to trumps speech and behaviors. Notice the similarities?

I’ve been written about in two books (that I know about). One is in David Sedaris’s diaries: A Carnival of Snackery (it’s flattering) and the other is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) it’s not as flattering, but I can be found across ALL editions and on many pages.

DSM is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Trump's behavior fits in several described mental disorders. Basically, we have a man with mental disorders as the US president. Good luck to all of us.

Hi Don! Always so nice to connect! The DSM is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. "The standard classification of mental disorders used by mental health professionals in the United States." Trump will need a volume all his own.
