Abstract in brief
Training in a fasted state (without eating beforehand) boosts the muscle's ability to burn fat and increases enzymes related to oxidative energy production more than training with carbohydrates.
Fasted training also enhances breakdown of muscle fat stores (IMCL) during exercise and allows for higher fat oxidation rates, supporting better endurance performance.
Importantly, fasted training helps maintain blood glucose levels during exercise, which can be beneficial for energy stability, unlike fed training where blood glucose drops.]
Fasted exercise is more effective than fed exercise to increase muscular oxidative capacity.
Fasting enhances exercise-induced breakdown of lipids.
In addition, fasting but not fed may prevent drop of blood glucose concentration during exercise. https://t.co/KuvuktYJdJ

Oldish but still a goody: This is quite lovely data describing the adaptive potency of 6wks of 4d/wk, 2h training sessions at 65% VO2 max among active but not endurance-trained subjects. Fasted or Carbed up https://t.co/BaMpvoasSL

Training in a fasted state boosts muscle's ability to burn fat and increases oxidative enzymes. Fasted training promotes fat store breakdown, supports endurance, and maintains blood glucose levels during exercise.
This video explores how endurance training in a fasted versus fed state influences muscle adaptations and metabolic responses over six weeks, showing similar increases in enzymes and glucose transporters, with fasting…

Interesting! Sub-maximal exercise training (6 wk, 4 days/wk) on the fasted state benefits muscular oxidative capacity and intramyocellular lipid breakdown (but not VO2max or time trial performance) compared with fed state. IMO periodization is the key.
