Abstract in brief
This study examined whether a dietary intervention aimed at reducing fat intake and increasing fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, along with weight loss, could decrease vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes and night sweats) in postmenopausal women.
The findings showed that women who followed the diet and lost significant weight (10 pounds or more) were more likely to experience relief from vasomotor symptoms, especially when they lost 22 pounds or more.
Overall, weight loss as part of a healthy diet appears to help reduce these menopausal symptoms in women, although dietary changes alone without substantial weight loss were less effective.
