This study investigated how different doses of delta9-THC, the active compound in cannabis, affect emotional responses to stress in healthy young adults, using a mental stress test called the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST).
The results showed that a low dose of THC (0.75 mg) helped reduce feelings of stress and made the stressful situation seem less threatening, aligning with why some people use cannabis to relax, while a higher dose (1.25 mg) increased negative feelings and impaired stress performance.
