Abstract in brief
Nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3, helps protect skin from damage caused by UV rays, which can lead to aging and skin cancer, by boosting cellular energy and DNA repair.
Clinical studies indicate that taking nicotinamide can reduce water loss through the skin and lower the risk of developing new skin cancers in people at high risk.
The review also discusses the safety of nicotinamide, suggesting it is generally safe when used for skin protection and cancer prevention.]
Nicotinamide, on the other hand, does not cause a flush and does not have cholesterol-lowering properties.
Nicotinamide has been shown to improve acne when applied to the skin and have potential anti-skin cancer effects when supplemented.

getting 30 minutes of direct sun has been important to me (for vitamin d3), so I'll be stacking nicotinamide and sulforaphane, both of which show promise for UV protection and repair

@Parsifaler Anything that protects against UV damage will be beneficial b/c it is radiation in the UVB range causing the damage.

@Michael95474028 @DoctorKarl That seemed like an outlandish claim, so I looked it up. Nicotinamide is a B3 vitamin, & research shows it supports/increases DNA repair post UV exposure. So yeah, pretty much correct. Important to note the risk reduction is only for non-melanoma.
