The study examines whether giving children with autism spectrum disorder the choice of reinforcers before or after they respond affects how quickly they learn new skills.
Results showed that for two out of three participants, providing the reinforcer choice after responding (as a consequence) led to faster skill acquisition compared to choosing beforehand.
