EngagementModerate engagement
Some posts reference detailed findings from the meta-analysis and include external opinions, indicating a moderate level of engagement beyond surface-level comments.
ImpactModerate impact
While the discussions highlight the promising results, the cautious tone about limitations and the call for further research suggest that users see some impact, but not a definitive revolution yet.
Abstract in brief
The meta-analysis examined 34 randomized controlled trials to assess how effective mindfulness meditation apps are in improving wellbeing and mental health outcomes, finding significant positive effects on perceived stress, anxiety, depression, and psychological wellbeing but not on distress or general wellbeing.
The studies used standardized measures to compare app-based mindfulness interventions to control groups, and results showed moderate effect sizes, indicating that these apps can be beneficial, but findings should be interpreted cautiously due to limitations like small sample sizes and variability among studies.
Overall, mindfulness apps appear promising for enhancing mental health and wellbeing, but further research is needed to confirm their effectiveness given the current uncertainties and potential biases in the existing studies.]

That said, I agree with both viewpoints. E-therapy is absolutely necessary, but what if it becomes another division line, i.e., "rich" get face to face, "poor" get apps / e-therapy
