  • This study aimed to develop a prediction model to estimate the individual risk of lymph node metastases in patients with early stage esophageal adenocarcinoma (pT1b), based on a large, multicenter cohort.
  • The model identified key risk factors such as tumor invasion depth, tumor size, and lymphovascular invasion, showing good ability to discriminate between high- and low-risk patients, with about a third experiencing metastases within five years.
  • However, before this prediction tool can be used in clinical practice, it needs to be externally validated through further studies.
