Abstract in brief

Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor originally developed for blood sugar control, but it may also reduce heart failure hospitalizations in patients with and without diabetes.
The DELIVER trial is a large international study investigating the effects of dapagliflozin versus placebo in patients with chronic heart failure and left ventricular ejection fraction of 40% or more, assessing cardiovascular death and worsening heart failure events as primary outcomes.
