High-dose vitamin C versus placebo in the treatment of patients with advanced cancer who have had no prior chemotherapy. A randomized double-blind comparison.
Many discussions focus on criticizing the study's methodology, citing prior limited animal or small case series evidence, and dismissing the trial's conclusions with statements like 'it’s worthless for now' or referencing failed replication attempts, which demonstrates a predominantly skeptical and dismissive attitude rather than curiosity or deep engagement.
AgreementStrong disagreement
Most discussions reject or dismiss the study, emphasizing its limitations and previous contradictory findings.
InterestLow interest
The tone indicates low curiosity or relevance, with users dismissing the trial as inconclusive or irrelevant.
EngagementLow engagement
Comments show superficial engagement, mainly dismissive remarks rather than in-depth analysis.
ImpactLow impact
The discussions suggest minimal impact, as users generally see the findings as predictable or already established.
Abstract in brief
The study involved 100 advanced colorectal cancer patients who had not received prior chemotherapy, and they were randomly assigned to receive either high-dose vitamin C or a placebo in a double-blind setup.
Results showed that high-dose vitamin C did not improve time to disease progression or patient survival compared to placebo, and no objective tumor improvements were observed.
The conclusion is that high-dose vitamin C is not effective as a treatment for advanced cancer, regardless of previous chemotherapy history.]

10g would not be expected to have much effect on cancer, if any. Surprisingly Cameron did see a beneficial effect using only 10g IV. Someone failed to replicate this using 10g orally. Not a surprise.

This video explores how our body utilizes vitamin C and discusses research on its effectiveness. A controlled trial with advanced cancer patients found no significant benefit from high-dose vitamin C treatments.
