Abstract Synopsis

  • This study tested a simple 4-week home-based workout, just 5 minutes a day, involving bodyweight exercises like squats and pushups, and found it improved physical fitness and mental health in sedentary people.
  • Although there were no significant changes in body composition or blood markers, participants showed notable gains in muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, and a decrease in heart rate, indicating better physical health.
  • Mental health also improved significantly after the program, suggesting that even a short daily exercise routine can positively impact both physical and mental wellbeing in inactive individuals.
