Abstract in brief

  • This study investigated how different doses of dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a naturally occurring hallucinogen, affect humans, especially focusing on neuroendocrine, cardiovascular, and autonomic responses in experienced users.
  • The researchers found that higher doses of DMT quickly increased blood pressure, heart rate, pupil size, and levels of hormones like beta-endorphin and cortisol, with effects peaking within 2 minutes and diminishing by 30 minutes, and that even lower doses could cause hallucinations.
  • The findings suggest DMT can be safely administered to experienced users and that its effects are related to serotonergic mechanisms, which could help further understand brain function and drug action in psychopharmacology.

This falls in line with the effects of the sub-psychedelic dose (0.05mg/kg) of exogenous DMT administered by Rick Strassman in his study in the 1990's. In this study Strassman would administer 4 different levels of DMT intravenously. https://t.co/6JmblB8Qb8

@Susul90163869 @Techtastisch An der Stelle sei Literatur zum Thema N,N-Dimethyltryptamin empfohlen. High doses of DMT produce a hallucinatory state that involves a sense of “another intelligence” that people sometimes describe as “super-intelligent,” but “emotionally detached.” https://t.co/mE7wtLHjYP https://t.co/Izr5Qx7H7t
