  • The study found that a topical moisturizer containing both niacinamide and N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG) significantly reduced facial hyperpigmentation in women aged 40-60 over 10 weeks, compared to a control formulation without these ingredients.
  • Multiple measures, including digital imaging and expert assessment, showed that the combination formulation was more effective at decreasing visible pigmentation and melanin spots than the vehicle control, with results being statistically significant (p ≤ .005).
