Abstract in brief

  • Human hair growth varies with the seasons, with scalp follicles peaking in the anagen phase in March and declining to a low in September.
  • Hair shedding is highest around August-September, coinciding with the lowest number of follicles in the growth phase, leading to about 60 more hairs lost daily in late summer.
  • Beard and thigh hair growth rates increase from winter to summer, peaking in July, while finger and toenail growth remain unaffected by seasonal changes.]

My hairdresser just told me I can make less frequent appointments in fall and winter, because my hair will not grow as fast. I told her so long as my hair doesn't change color in October and fall out by late November, I'm fine with this new knowledge. https://t.co/ZjNhwkOuZZ
