Abstract in brief

The serratus plane block is a new ultrasound-guided technique that aims to numb the side of the chest (hemithorax), potentially offering a simpler and safer alternative to more complex nerve blocks like thoracic paravertebral or neuraxial blocks.
The technique was tested on four healthy women, showing that it provided long-lasting numbness (paraesthesia) for about 12.5 to 14 hours, with no side effects observed in this early study.
Although these are initial findings, the results suggest that the serratus plane block could be an effective, safe, and easy option for pain relief after thoracic wall surgeries, but further clinical trials are needed to confirm its benefits.]
