  • The study found that sleep restriction increases the daily rhythm and levels of the endocannabinoid 2AG, which is linked to appetite regulation, leading to increased hunger and food intake.
  • Under sleep restriction, the peak levels of 2AG are delayed and prolonged, coinciding with participants feeling hungrier and consuming more palatable snacks.
