Abstract in brief
Emotions in everyday life are highly prevalent, with people experiencing at least one emotion 90% of the time, mostly positive ones like joy and love, though negative emotions like anxiety also occur frequently.
Using a new smartphone app with a large and diverse sample, researchers found that positive emotions are experienced 25 times more often than negative ones, and people often feel positive and negative emotions simultaneously.
Network analysis revealed different categories of emotions: connector emotions (like joy) that promote same-valence feelings, provincial emotions (like gratitude) that only promote similar feelings, and distal emotions (like embarrassment) that are usually experienced alone with little interaction with other emotions.

Life is about carrying both the positive and the negative together.
That’s what life is.
Of course, we should try to share mostly positive emotions in everyday life. But we can’t avoid the negative moments and feelings that inevitably come. Because that’s the nature of life.
We tracked people's heart rate, respiration and movement via wearable devices for 7 days, and found that they formed patterns (i.e., states) that predicted moments of poorly regulated emotions in everyday life.
It stirs emotions in everyday life, but it has no effect as a pain killer in training.
Maybe it's because it's as happy as a dream.
