@fusreedah If you really must know, I have lymphedema. I came to hospital with an infected toenail, but it turned out I also had 3 or 4 other infections in the massive lymphedema lobe on my thigh. I felk into unconsciousness for a week & a half, and now I'm learning how to walk again.

Anyways the emergency room gave me some medication for vertigo. I'm at home right now I'm recuperating but that just was really scary and really sudden and I canceled my PT appointment for my shoulder this week so that all I have to focus on is my lymphedema consultation next week for my leg.

I’m glad that transition therapy is covered by insurance, but they should allow cis women to get surgery as well. We can’t get a breast reduction covered by insurance unless our boobs are G’s. We can’t get a rhinoplasty unless it’s a deviated septum. We can’t get liposuction unless it’s lymphedema.

Example: My wife has Lymphedema in her legs. One leg became inflamed and she went to A&E. Triaged, put in an Adult Assessment Unit for 2 days. Needed intravenous antibiotics meaning several days in hospital. This time discharged but came back for 4 "outpatient" drips. Massive savings and freed beds.

My feeling is that it's important to follow science. If there is research that suggests that wearing a bra causes breast cancer, one would want to link to it snd share facts. Of course women who have had breast cancer have lymphedema, but this has other root causes (removal of nodes for example).

Discipline is not a problem for me :) Because of my lymphedema I do sports almost every day. I ride my bike to work in all weather conditions. Vitamin D - yes, I don't take it artificially, but I like to be outside on my days off. No screen time before bed usually works too. I'm working on that xD

Nothing for her diabetes, lymphedema, they didn't find evidence of pleural effusion this time but the afib is still an issue which they did not treat and they said she looks to be chronically anemic... which they also did not treat. And they were going to send her home.

Compared to other places our medical expenses are quite well regulated, and yet, here I am, suddenly having to wear not one but two compression 'socks' for lymphedema, and having to pay €150-200 for each sock. Which will probably not be a perfect fit from the start, so I'll need to buy a new pair+

Like, I have discussion nightly with my self, telling her it's ok to sleep, now, she's safe. My body stores extra fluids (lymphedema) when stressed out by illness, but sometimes just with added stress. I tell me that it's ok. I can shower without being filmed, I can sleep peacefully. We are ok.
