Abstract in brief
Spanking is a controversial topic with ongoing debates about whether it is beneficial or harmful to children.
Meta-analyses of 111 studies involving over 160,000 children show that spanking is generally linked to negative outcomes for kids.
The negative effects of spanking are similar in strength to those of physical abuse and are consistent across different study types and designs.]

The problem with spanking is that it's politicized, so if you don't think it does any good because there's no evidence for it, you're automatically a Democrat. Likewise if you believe in a flat tax rate, you probably spank your children. It's nonsense.
