AgreementModerate agreement
Most discussions indicate support for the findings, particularly noting that both exercises lead to muscle lengthening and hypertrophy, aligning with the publication's conclusions.
InterestModerate interest
Participants seem moderately interested, referencing specific study results and applications, which suggests a genuine curiosity about the research implications.
EngagementModerate engagement
Comments involve detailed references to muscle architecture measurements, including discussions about ultrasound and MRI techniques, demonstrating a moderate depth of engagement.
ImpactModerate impact
The discussions highlight practical implications, such as injury prevention and training effectiveness, implying that the article could influence training protocols and further research.
Abstract in brief
Both Nordic hamstring (NHE) and hip extension (HE) exercises led to lengthening of the biceps femoris fascicles, with no significant difference between the two methods, suggesting they both effectively improve muscle architecture.
Hip extension training resulted in a greater increase in hamstring muscle size (volume), especially in the biceps femoris, indicating it may be more beneficial for muscle hypertrophy compared to NHE.
Overall, both exercises contribute to hamstring adaptation that could help in injury prevention, with HE potentially offering additional benefits for muscle growth.]
3/n So, data, https://t.co/dea5ibhW7e. We examined H volume change after 10W high volume hip ext v knee flex (Nordics) training. Hip & knee training do preferentially 'grow' different hamstrings but they do not preferentially grow prox/distal parts of these muscles.

@GeorgeDennison1 @davidopar @JackHickey89 @das_shield Hi George. We’ve done CSA measures before in the below from @MBourne5. It is expensive with the need for MRI to measure it...and it’s tough to get cash these days for this type of research. Some ultrasound stuff out there too but poor estimates unless 3D

Research indicates that short biceps femoris fascicles and eccentric knee flexor weakness increase hamstring injury risk in elite football players. Longer fascicles and greater eccentric strength can reduce injury…
In support of this point, the authors refer to a study where a 5 week training study of NHC resulted in sig increase in CSA for the ST & BFSh, but not the BFLh & SM.
