Abstract Synopsis
- The study explores how the Roussouly classification of spinal alignment applies to 296 healthy, asymptomatic adults, focusing on variations in pelvic and lumbar parameters, including the concept of anteverted pelvis, which hadn't been studied in this group before.
- Findings show that although these adults maintained overall balance, their spinal and pelvic features varied significantly across the five Roussouly types; notably, a new type (Type 3 AP) was identified, characterized by low or negative pelvic incidence and hyperlordosis.
- Most participants had their C7 plumb line behind the hip axis, but a notable portion had it positioned in front, revealing diversity in sagittal alignment even among symptom-free individuals.
