@TimothyChase (Twitter)@quantumashley @quantum_graeme They note that the ISWAP is twice as computationally expensive to model on classical (supp. pg. 15), and what they are actually using is an fsim that is ISWAP-like (ibid.), but no doubt more expensive. At a depth of 20, big difference. https://t.co/9Xp238U6rC

Machine actually has 142 qubits (only 54 are "operable"). Highly impactful. https://t.co/FDSgkCVxvK https://t.co/8wNpfgBb5z

Abstract Synopsis
- Researchers achieved quantum supremacy by using a programmable superconducting processor with 53 qubits, enabling them to tackle complex computational tasks much faster than classical processors.
- The Sycamore processor can complete a specific quantum circuit in about 200 seconds, while a leading classical supercomputer would need around 10,000 years for the same task.
- This breakthrough demonstrates the potential of quantum computing to revolutionize computing paradigms by performing certain calculations exponentially faster than traditional methods.
