Abstract Synopsis
- A 60-day bed rest study evaluated the effects of artificial gravity (AG) on physical and muscle function; AG did not improve aerobic capacity but helped reduce muscle deterioration, especially in jumping power and plantar flexion strength.
- The study involved three groups—continuous AG, intermittent AG, and control—with AG protocols providing low-intensity muscle contractions insufficient for maintaining aerobic fitness but somewhat protective for muscle function.
