Abstract Synopsis
- Coffee is the most widely consumed source of caffeine, but its effects on brain networks from chronic use are not well understood.
- This study analyzed the resting brain activity of habitual coffee drinkers (CD) and non-coffee drinkers (NCD), revealing that CD had decreased connectivity in certain brain networks related to sensory and emotional processing.
- Increased frequency of caffeine consumption was linked to higher stress and anxiety levels, indicating that coffee drinking affects brain function and emotional states.
