Abstract Synopsis

  • The study investigates how the mouse brain's neocortex adapts to food scarcity by reducing energy expenditure, specifically in processing visual information.
  • During food restriction, there was a decrease in the conductance of AMPA receptors, which lowered ATP consumption by neurons while maintaining their excitability.
