Abstract Synopsis
- Athletes who have undergone ACL reconstruction show reduced jump height and reactive strength compared to healthy controls, with significant differences between the injured and uninjured limbs.
- Biomechanical analysis reveals that the involved (injured) knee generates less work during jumps, and muscle contributions differ, with hamstrings playing a larger role and soleus less in the injured limb.
- Vertical jump metrics, such as jump height, are more effective in assessing knee function deficits post-ACL reconstruction than horizontal hop tests, highlighting their importance in return-to-sport evaluations.
