Abstract in brief

  • The study found that both short sleep (less than 5 hours) and long sleep (more than 9 hours) are linked to higher risks of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality among US adults.
  • Researchers used data from NHANES (2005-2014) and statistical models to estimate that about 18-23% of cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths could be prevented by optimizing sleep duration.
  • The findings suggest that maintaining a balanced sleep duration could significantly reduce the risk of CVD, highlighting the importance of good sleep habits for primary prevention.]

@QuintusActual @thecaptain_nemo Well, here’s the actual study. I just wanted to note that the graph is a result, not a measurement; in terms of measurement, they only found a mortality correlation of any statistical significance in their <=5h and >=9h buckets. https://t.co/kGDESxgo5Y
