Abstract Synopsis
- This study assessed the effectiveness of a computer-aided detection (CADe) system in improving polyp detection during screening colonoscopies, aiming to see if it could reduce long-term colorectal cancer risk.
- The results showed a slight, borderline significant increase in overall polyp detection rate (PDR) with CADe, but no significant improvement in adenoma detection rate (ADR), especially when procedures were conducted by experienced colonoscopists.
- Overall, CADe demonstrated limited benefit in a clinical setting with skilled practitioners, suggesting its primary value might be in settings with less experienced endoscopists.
