Abstract Synopsis
- Studies on climate change require projections using general circulation models (GCMs), but there's no agreement on how to choose the right ones, especially in species distribution modeling (SDM).
- An ideal method would include all GCMs, but that is computationally expensive; thus, a new framework has been created that allows researchers to assess variations in GCMs more efficiently.
- The framework is available as the chooseGCM R package, which simplifies downloading and analyzing GCM data, offers functions for various calculations, and can be utilized effectively by both novice and experienced researchers in climate modeling.
