Abstract Synopsis
- The study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of zimislecel, a stem cell-derived therapy, in treating type 1 diabetes.
- Participants underwent infusions of either a half dose or full dose of zimislecel and received glucocorticoid-free immunosuppressive therapy.
- Results showed successful engraftment of islet cells in all 14 participants, though some serious adverse effects, including neutropenia and two deaths, were reported.
