Abstract Synopsis
- This study presents a wearable tattoo sticker that quickly and noninvasively detects GHB, a drug linked to sexual assault, by changing color in real time when GHB is present.
- The sticker uses a chemical receptor called BHEI embedded in a gel, which reacts to GHB at very small amounts, and is built with a flexible PDMS film, making it durable and resistant to environmental factors and physical handling.
- The GHB tattoo sticker can detect small concentrations of GHB in liquids like alcohol and coffee within one second, and could serve as an important tool to help prevent drug-facilitated sexual assaults by allowing individuals to detect GHB easily and quickly.]
